T.O. and Jeremy

Who's the hero?

Terrell Owens is a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jeremy is a United States soldier

Terrell’s nick name is “T.O.”

Jeremy has no nickname.

T.O. thinks he’s a big hero.

Jeremy doesn’t consider himself a big hero.

T.O. talks about himself. A lot.

Jeremy doesn’t talk about himself that much.

When T.O. scores a touchdown, he is famous for his gloating antics.

When Jeremy kills a terrorist, he doesn’t say much.

T.O. makes about 10 million bucks a year.

Jeremy makes a couple hundred bucks a month.

Even though he signed a 5-year contract a year and a half ago, T.O. is screeching for a new contract, for even more money.

Even though he signed up for the Reserves in peacetime, Jeremy left his home, job, wife and two daughters, and serves his President and his nation in wartime. He didn’t ask to renegotiate. He asks for nothing except the backing of his nation.

T.O. scored his 100th NFL touchdown a few weeks ago, and was furious that his team did not provide America a large enough celebration to satisfy his taste.

Jeremy protected a few convoys from death last week, and pretty much went back to his tent, shook out his shoes and went to sleep.

In an effort to coerce his team to grant his wishes, T.O. skipped practices, insulted his leaders, teammates, coaches, and destroyed his team’s spirit, effectively ruining his team’s chances to return to the Super Bowl.

In an effort to protect American freedom and create freedom for people around the world, Jeremy trudges through the Iraqi desert, dodging bullets, bombs and very bad people. Every day.

Despite the obvious disgusting treachery and treason of T.O. Jesse Jackson and Ralph Nader have come to his rescue.

Despite his honest and brave sacrifice, Jesse Jackson and Ralph Nader are doing their best to undercut his safety and his mission.

I’m not sure what motivates T.O. but he’s not very concerned for the success of the people around him. He is motivated by greed, personal lust, self-aggrandizement, and is essentially a traitor. He is an awful man by any measure.

I’m not sure what motivates Jeremy, but I’m guessing love of nation, lust for freedom, great humbleness, and he is essentially a truly brave virtuous man. He is a good man by any measure. Actually, perhaps a great man.

We have our own TO’s, all over America. Like T.O. they are doing their best to undermine the great and beautiful sacrifice of Jeremy and his comrades. They actively campaign for his failure, sacrificing their very nation for greed, self-aggrandizement, and of course the lust of power. They are apparently willing to sacrifice their nations freedom and success. Like T.O. they are essentially traitors. For, while Jeremy serves his nation, his people, and those whose necks lie crushed under the boots of tyranny across the world, the TO’s of the world serve nothing more than themselves.

Because his actions were so despicable and destructive, the Philadelphia Eagles suspended T.O. for the rest of the season. The good news is that T.O. only cost the Eagles $10 million. Our traitors are costing our freedom.
